ABOUT HARTS RANGE AMATEUR RACING CLUB

HARTS RANGE AMATEUR RACE CLUB presents:

 

THE 75TH HARTS RANGE RACES

Held annually at the Harts Range Racecourse, set in the majestic East MacDonnell ranges area, is the ‘Harts Range Races’. The NT August Picnic Races Public Holiday stem from this 75-year tradition started at the Harts Range Racecourse, 215km East of Alice Springs on the Plenty Highway. See our Club History Page.

Dates for the 2022 races:

Friday to Monday: July 29th, 30th, 31st and 1st August 2022.

Gates open to the public from Friday 10:00am.

Red Centre Campdraft – This event will start on Tuesday July 26th and run through until Friday 29th.
 

The Harts Range Amateur Race Club will be holding its usual event whilst adhering to COVID-19 regulations. 

 

2022 EVENT

Our Program involves 2 full days of activities and fun for all the family, over Saturday and Sunday.

Stockhorse Races, Fashions on the Field, Rodeo, Sports events including Running Races, Novelty Races for kids, Lizard Race, Ladies Cow Tail Toss and Tug-of-War, Evening Dances and Talent Quest.

Saturday Evening Dance: 

Entertainment this year will be Heidi Moncrieff, with DJ Mat St Clair.

 

Admission will be $5.00 at the door (no pre-event tickets sold). Kids under 16 are free but must be accompanied by an adult.  

Harts Range Ball (Gentlemen require a tie). The dance has a theme each year. (Please remember that this is a family event and children may be present). Theme for 2022 is Country Royalty-Diamonds and Dust.

Entry Numbers will be restricted due to fire regulations, so get in early.

Sunday Evening:

Harts Range Talent Quest with Karaoke supplied by DJ Mat St Clair.

We would like to encourage patrons planning on attending to purchase pre-paid tickets online to assist with gate entry and money handling. 

ENTRY FEES

Weekend Pass
Includes camping for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday – access to showers and toilets. 

 

Adults: $40.00
 

Children: Patrons under 16 years of age are free

How to Purchase:

  • Online at: Ticketbo, please click the following link.

  • Available from Monday 4th July. 

  • Only if the event is cancelled, will Ticketebo tickets be refunded, (excluding the booking fee). 

  • Each attendee will need to present their ticket at the gate – either printed or on your phone, to receive your wristband. 

  • EFTPOS/Cash at Centre Ag Services (old Landmark Building), 34 Stuart Highway – next to Caltex Teppa Hill, Alice Springs, or the Atitjere Store, Atitjere Community. 

  • At the Gate (EFTPOS or cash). 

No alcohol is sold over the weekend – BYO only; however there will be ice available. 

Camping facilities are provided – showers and toilets. No powered or reserved sites. Make sure to pack:
   •    Swag
   •    Camp Oven
   •    Firewood
   •    BBQ
   •    Personal Sunblock and Personal Insect Spray


BBQ’s and campfires are permitted inside the camping area.

CANTEEN
On-site Catering is available courtesy of the Harts Range Amateur Race Club with bacon and egg sandwiches, steak and sausages sandwiches, hot chips, drinks, and ice. Supporting the canteen means you are supporting the club to assist putting on this fantastic event. 

Canteen opening hours are to be confirmed, but approximately– 7:30am to 8:30pm Saturday and Sunday, please remember to factor this into your planning of evening meals.

So, bring the family out camping for the Picnic Weekend Holiday and support local community groups at the same time.

EFTPOS is the preferred payment method at the Gate, Canteen, Merchandise and Tote sheds, however as mobile reception is not always stable, please bring cash along as a backup.

HRARC will be encouraging patrons to follow the 1.5m social/physical distancing guidelines, practice good hand hygiene (HRARC will supply hand sanitisers to toilet facilities across the grounds). 


If you or a family member are feeling unwell, please stay home.

Stallholders:

Businesses or individuals wishing to hold a stall at this year's Campdraft or Races will need to apply. Contact Liz Bird (08) 8956 9779 for more information.

Details and Dates for Future Harts Range Bush Sports Weekends:

2023 – Friday to Monday: August 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th.  

2024 – Friday to Monday: August 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th.

2025 – Friday to Monday: August 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

In all cases, Monday is the NT Picnic Public Holiday.
